Fort Belvoir Community Hospital, Fort Belvoir, VA
The Ranger Group is providing commissioning services for Fort Belvoir’s new 1.2 million square foot, $747 million state-of-the-art community hospital. The hospital will be part of an integrated health care network providing world-class medical services to service members, veterans, retirees and their families. The new Community Hospital at Fort Belvoir will replace the current 51-year-old facility, which was dedicated in May 1957. The hospital will grow from 46 to 120 beds, and will add approximately 1,700 staff members to the existing 1,500. In December 2007, Congress appropriated additional funds to speed hospital construction.
The hospital will include a large ICU, 10 operating rooms, a cancer center and diagnostic centers. The war wounded are expected to be sent to this facility for some specialty care, including orthopedic and mental health.
The care facilities are supported by a Central Utility Plant (CUP). The CUP provides stable electrical power and HVAC services supporting the Main Hospital Building and four Clinical Centers.
All normal, critical and emergency support utilities are to be commissioned to verify design operational intent in both normal and failure modes. Special care is taken to test maintenance modes of all utility equipment will be provided. This will help to establish a baseline maintenance program by the owner. Training is provided to the owner by supplying vendors and supervised by Ranger Group.
San Antonio Military Medical Center (SAMMC), Fort Sam Houston, TX
The Ranger Group, LLC is currently providing Total Building and LEED™ Commissioning Services for San Antonio Military Medical Center. SAMMC-North will serve as a world class health science center for inpatient and ambulatory care. It will consist of Graduate Medical Education (GME) and the only American Burn Association verified center within the Department of Defense.
National Institutes of Health, Electrical Vault Upgrades, Bethesda, MD
The Ranger Group is currently providing design-build construction services to upgrade and replace electrical vaults in various buildings throughout the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Bethesda, Maryland. This project includes the replacement and upgrade of building electrical work and vaults, including but not limited to, transformer, network protector, switchgear, feeder breakers and any other electrical components necessary.
Department of Labor, Earle C. Clements Job Corps Culinary Arts Center, Morganfield, KY
The Ranger Group provided general construction services for the construction of a new 10,000 sf culinary arts center on the Earle C. Clements Job Corps Center Campus in Morganfield, KY. The Facility includes new state of the art kitchen equipment, dining facility, and training rooms to accommodate the 13,000 student body. Phase I was completed and occupied several months ahead of schedule despite unusually severe weather conditions. Phase II is currently underway including demolition of an existing structure and installation of a new parking area.
VA Medical Center, Gulfport, MS
The Ranger Group provided design-build construction services for the replacement of windows and doors for ten buildings at the Gulfport VA Medical Center. The buildings were renovated then donated to the City of Gulfport to aid in the redevelopment efforts in this area damaged by Katrina. The Ranger Group was responsible for providing all windows, doors, trim, and accessories required for the installation associated with all ten buildings.
